Join us on the Freshers’ Trip
Our Freshers’ trips will take place on the 27th and 28th of September. Each day will be a day trip to the Lake District to climb Helvellyn via Striding Edge, giving you a taste of a typical autumn trip with us. This trip is suitable for all abilities and is a great way to meet everyone and get started with mountaineering if you’re new. Emails will be sent out with more information at the start of term. Sign up to the mailing list to receive regular updates!

Widening Access
Mountaineering is an expensive sport to get into at the start, involving a lot of specialised and often expensive kit. Considering this, and in partnership with YuFund and Alpkit we are purchasing more equipment that can be borrowed by club members that can’t afford to purchase their own yet. We are increasing our supply of specialised climbing equipment for the use of members, furthermore we have a collection of waterproofs for members experiencing financial barriers which prevent them from buying their own. We aim to help students who would otherwise not be able to access the sport to get involved and try out mountaineering. In addition, on top of the subsidies we already provide for our Winter Skills training weekend, we will be providing extra subsidies to members that require extra help to access Winter Skills or to hire boots.
